I like snow for how it makes the town look, but I don't have any shoes or boots appropriate for walking in it, because it snows so rarely in here, and when it does, it doesn't stay anyway.

yeah, somehow the weather hasn't realized that it was the "meterological begin of spring" yesterday...but on the other hand the general start of spring is at the end of march :-)

Is it supposed to be the beginning of spring? Isn't that March 21?

My dad told me lately that February is always the coldest month. I always forget.

there are two dates: the traditional (we call it calendarian date in German) one and the meterological one. The traditional date is always around the 20. or 21. of a month. 21.12. for winter, 20.3. for spring and so on.

I love snow and I prefer this weather to the wet-cold weather we had some weeks ago.
I've got two pairs of winter boots (because it can snow quite alot where my parents live) but I left one at my parents after I visited them in january - I believed it would be still cold in february but i didn't expect that much snow. So I'm stuck with one pair of snow/ice suitable shoes at the moment - and it's been snowing since last friday here and no end in sight.

I don't think we have a meteorological one at all. It's one and the same with the traditional one, for us.

I bought a new pair of boots today. It's not really winter boots, but at least they don't have grids on the soles and keep my feet dry *grumbles*
