Thank you London

For paying the tax increase necessary to organize the Olympic Games in your city in 2012.

(but why are all these people SO disappointed about not getting it?...)

We already have something big :)

We had the Soccer World Cup in 1998, I still remember it, and I'm not really looking forward something else like that.

It's not like if Paris needed the extra draw, it's already packed with tourists. We don't need the extra sports equipments either, so I don't see the big deal.

I don't want to imagine the effect on public transport in London!

I also hope to get away next summer when I have the Soccer Worldcup right in front of my door! :-( I looove soccer fans :-(

Why do big cities want to have the Olymic games??? The winter olymics are
always in places with lots of space - and mostly not big cities.

I didn't even know the Soccer World Cup was in Germany next year *face plant*

Isn't that a bit close from the French ones? Only 8 years ago? I thought they'd try to alternate between continents better than that.

I actually do remember the '98 World Cup, and it's not only good memories. The last night where people wanted to celebrate victory, it got a bit ruined by a woman driving crazily in the crowd and drunk people sending glass bottles and firecrackers on people.

I've always wanted to attend the Olympics in a foreign city. Y'know, hopefully I'll get to do that in a few years. I'd love to visit London.

That would be a nice occasion to meet too, if we havn't in between :)
I seem to go to London all the time for various reasons, so if I'm still in Paris by the time, I could hop there to see you :)

So true!

Though, honestly, the second I save enough money and am more stable financially, I'm planning on making a trip to Europe: to see London, Stockholm (cuz my cousins are constantly emailing me to come visit them!), and to Paris (to see you and all the cool museums and stuff), and to Italy and Greece eventually, because I love Greek and Roman art/architecture/etc.

So, I'll definitely get to see you by 2012. Ha! I'm looking forward to seeing the bohemian life there.
