Paris : Saint Germain d'Auxerrois

A church I had never seen... A church I had never seen...
even though it's right in front of the East facade of the Louvre. o_O I guess I just always gazed at the museum and forgot to look around...

"Big Grass". I know that sometimes modern art isn't just bullshit, but in this case, I do think it is.

So very cliché, I know.

There was so much sun outside that for once I could take pictures of the inside of a church without flash that still came out not too blurry.

Nobody did it while I was there, though there was a guy with a digital camera flashing away all around the church. Arg!

I pushed the light on this one because it was too dark to see the angels all right otherwise.

Mwahahaha, I never noticed a church anywhere near the Louvre anywhere either. Unless...is it the one behind it? The one you can see when you get off at Louvre-Rivoli? Because I saw that the last time I was in Paris but it was closed and I couldn't get in. ;_; So if this is the church, I'll be pleased that I did get to see inside it after all. :D

And if you like the disco-ball effect, you should really go to the basilique de Saint-Denis on a sunny day. The effect of the sunlight through the stained glass is amazing in there on a fine day. I should find some pictures for you later, if you want.

And you mentioned on an earlier post wanting to go to a salon de thé? I'll come! ...although I won't be in Paris again until May, at the earliest...

The church I took in pictures is the square on this "wonderful" ASCII map...
I seem to recall there is another church-like building figured here by the xxxx

*Grumble*

If you copy my ASCII map in an editor and view it in Courier New, it should look okay.

Yes, I've still found a very peculiar building just this afternoon, in a neighborhood I rarely visit.
Unfortunately, I had no camera with me.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of living here :)
