Petit Palais, Paris, April 27, 2008
It was sunny and hot, and as I was on the Champs-Elysees with my camera, I was reminded that I had never gone back to this museum.
... okay, now it reminds me of the Met. Where I definitely want to go and spend more than 5 min, some day. |

Art = excuse for nudity?
I like everything about this building <3
Even those odd patched up statues
Notice the boat under her? It's reminiscent of Paris' symbol and motto. |
Opening gate
Detail : Fluctuat nec mergitur again
I don't think any other monument is so insistent about Paris' motto. It was probably funded by the town and not by the governement? |
Art Nouveau a bit
The motto means "Floats but never sinks". |
Lady with monkey
If I recall, it's when I wanted to take a photo of her last time that my batteries died ^^;,, |
So I indulged a bit
Because I really like the technique of it. It's ceramics, can you believe it? |
And she's pretty, too.
A different technique
but I really like those multi-color statues. |
That foot looks real...
It's nearly skin-toned o_o |
Shot from above
Err... painful? |
Adam, Eve and Abel
First death on Earth |
Glowy
Good Samaritan
Surprising realism |
The boat again... surrounded by victories
The inner garden
I last shot it in winter covered in snow... |
The terrace leads to the café
It has to be one of the most pleasant places of Paris
Eve with the snake
Haunting
I love that place
I'm not sure what those are...
Are they even finished? |
