We had the Soccer World Cup in 1998, I still remember it, and I'm not really looking forward something else like that.
It's not like if Paris needed the extra draw, it's already packed with tourists. We don't need the extra sports equipments either, so I don't see the big deal.
I didn't even know the Soccer World Cup was in Germany next year *face plant*
Isn't that a bit close from the French ones? Only 8 years ago? I thought they'd try to alternate between continents better than that.
I actually do remember the '98 World Cup, and it's not only good memories. The last night where people wanted to celebrate victory, it got a bit ruined by a woman driving crazily in the crowd and drunk people sending glass bottles and firecrackers on people.
That would be a nice occasion to meet too, if we havn't in between :) I seem to go to London all the time for various reasons, so if I'm still in Paris by the time, I could hop there to see you :)
Though, honestly, the second I save enough money and am more stable financially, I'm planning on making a trip to Europe: to see London, Stockholm (cuz my cousins are constantly emailing me to come visit them!), and to Paris (to see you and all the cool museums and stuff), and to Italy and Greece eventually, because I love Greek and Roman art/architecture/etc.
So, I'll definitely get to see you by 2012. Ha! I'm looking forward to seeing the bohemian life there.

Why do big cities want to have the Olymic games??? The winter olymics are
always in places with lots of space - and mostly not big cities.
