Random Farewell My Concubine related...

Lotus films official site has up a section on Mei Lanfang, an actor specialized in female parts, on which Leslie Cheung's character in the movie was loosely based (or so they say. As far as I know, the movie was based on a book written by Lilian Lee, though the few I've read of the French translation makes me agree with the Publishers Weekly review : a lot, if not all of the poignancy of the characters and stories was lost into the stiff style, while the movie, however formal, transcended that through acting and visuals).

So, real pics of a "dan" actor in Beijing's theater.

Also, there is apparently no "Farewell my concubine" fan-fiction. *sigh*
Now that's sad.
